Tell us about you and your journey
“When I was younger, I used to do drugs, but it fucked me up a lot and I ended up in hospital. I used to beg as well, so I’ve had quite a rough experience in life. But I’m out of
all that now and I wouldn’t go back to it anymore.

I got guided to Maples because the
universe knew I needed them, so the universe put me in this safe place, this haven. I feel like what you believe inside of yourself will guide you to the right places, I don’t wish bad on people, I wish good all the time and I always look for the right answers and the right solutions, and because of that, I got guided to the right thing.” What was your experience like with Maples?
“I was at Maples for a year and a half, I had a good experience there and have come out the other side. I really loved all the staff while I was there and would always talk to them about what was on my mind.
I built a nice little temple in my room, I made a studio in there where I could make YouTube and TikTok videos. I kept talking to staff about it, and they really pushed me to pursue it, and make money off it to buy my own flat and car. So, they were good to me, and I had a really good experience with them. I’m currently in a good place and looking to continue making and editing videos.”

How do you feel Maples does things differently? “Maples was definitely the best fit for me, it was the first place to properly help me and give me the support I needed. I spent my year and a half there doing so much good. It brought me to people like Nic, and Nic is so qualified in the spiritual stuff, so he used to talk to me about it and he made me feel better about who I was on the earth. I still text him to this day. Maples leave you to do what you want to do, so you’re still independent, but at the same time they’ll offer you support every day. They’ll take you on walks, or to badminton or swimming, to gym. If you want someone to help you cook, they help you cook, they’ll wash your clothes for you. I felt safe in there and the staff helped me become more independent. I wish I didn't leave in a way." How have you been doing since leaving Maples?
“I’m doing alright you know, I’m doing a lot of good and positive stuff! I’m currently trying to get an independent flat, some of the others in my place now like to drink, which is fine, but I’m ready to move on from that. I’m enjoying living more independently, I like going shopping and buying clothes, I’m more active and I’m meeting my kids all the time and am always talking to them now.
